A coastal series shot on expired film, chasing the exact moment the sea stops looking like the sea.
The idea
I bought forty rolls of expired film for almost nothing and gave myself one rule: only shoot when the light is failing.
What came back was wrong in the best way - colour shifts, static, the horizon melting. It stopped being pictures of the sea and became pictures of remembering the sea.
